It's a nice article and to tell you the truth I would be kind of happy to receive emails like these from a former church. At least I would know that they cared that I left in some way. But I have been to like a hundred churches, went to some of them for years, been an official member at more than one, been on ministry teams, made friends, did a pastoral internships, went to some for years. Never caused any kind of big problem and even tithed. But not one of them ever contacted me when I left. Its like they never noticed or cared why I left. I tried reaching out to one years later and told them why I left but they just said that the church grew after I left and they have never been happier. They made it sound like the church was way better without me there. So a letter of concern would have been nice compared to what I got. Just saying. Of course I didnt make a lot of money so my tithes were small compared to other people and people where other jealous and intimidated by me doing ministry there. I always felt like an outsider and not cared about in churches. People really didnt want to get to know me other than saying hi on Sunday and asking how I am doing. I tried but they would always say they are way too busy. Yet they would spend time with and get to know everyone else.
